Evan Jones begins his second year as a graduate assistant in 2013 after a stellar four-year career with the Red Men. Jones, a native of Grayslake, Ill., graduated from Carthage in 2011 and is working on his master's in education, also at Carthage. Jones served as an assistant coach at Lake Forest High School in 2011.
A four-year standout as the Red Men's quarterback from 2007 to 2010, Jones re-wrote the Carthage record book, setting career marks for total yards (9,424 yards), passing yards (9,406) and touchdown passes (82); season records in 2009 for total yards (3,655), passing yards (3,554), pass attempts (464), pass completions (309) and touchdown passes (32). He also set game records for most total yards (567), most passing yards (562), most pass attempts (84) and most pass completions (47), while tying a school record with six TD passes. Jones was an assistant football coach at Lake Forest High School in 2011.
