Deon Broomfield

Deon Broomfield enters his second season in 2016 as a graduate assistant working with the safeties.  

Broomfield comes joins the Carthage College staff after spending the 2014 NFL season with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent.  

Prior to the NFL, Broomfield played safety for the Iowa State University Cyclones.  After redshirting his freshman year, Broomfield played in all 50 games from 2010-2013 starting 18 games and recording 133 tackles, 16 pass breakups, forced four fumble and had three interceptions.  Additionally, Deon had a knack for making big plays at big times with key stops against West Virginia and Oklahoma State in the closing minutes, leading to Cyclone wins.

A native of Melbourne, Florida, Deon received his bachelors degree from Iowa State in liberal studies.
