Cody Cox

Cody Cox enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Carthage College Football team after joining in the staff in late March to assist with the linebackers.
 
A four-year letter winner at linebacker for Ohio Northern, Cox started 40 of 42 career games with the Polar Bears, recording 253 career tackles, 20 tackles for loss, two interceptions, two sacks and six forced fumbles.  During his junior season, Cox helped ONU reach the elite eight in the NCAA Division III playoffs and was elected a captain for his senior season.  Following his senior year, Cody was invited to the Senior Classic in Myrtle Beach.
 
Prior to joining Carthage, Cody spent time as an intern for the football team at Ohio Northern working with the defensive backs and linebackers.  Additionally, during the summer of 2016 Cox worked with his alma mater, Homestead High School, as a strength and conditioning/defensive backs coach.
 
A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Cody graduated from Ohio Northern University in the winter of 2016 with a bachelor’s in History and Political Science.  He will pursue a master’s degree in education at Carthage.
