Carthage College Athletics

2014:  Played in 16 games and made seven starts, six at first base and one in leftfield…batted .270 in 37 at bats.

2013:  Played in 26-of-40 games and made 16 starts, 15 in leftfield and one as the designated hitter…batted .224 in 58 at bats.

2012:  Played in 27-of-38 games and made 19 starts, 12 in leftfield, one in rightfield and six as the designated hitter…batted .316 in 76 at bats with 12 RBI.

2011:  Attended Carthage but did not participate in baseball.

High School:  Named All-Fox Valley Conference and Grayslake Times all-area his senior year on a team that won both league and regional titles…all-conference as a junior on a team that won a super sectional title en route to a third-place finish at the Illinois High School Association Class 3A state championship…coached by Troy Whalen…also a member of the football team…National Honor Society member.

Personal:  Exercise and sport science major…his dad, Mike Gentile Sr., attended Carthage and lettered on the 1978 football team…named to the fall 2010 Carthage dean’s list.
