Biography

2014:  Made nine pitching appearances, six of those starting assignments…compiled a 4-3 record with a 4.36 earned run average…went 4-0 over his last four starts and allowed just three earned runs over 29.3 innings for a 0.92 earned run average in that stretch.

2013:  Underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the entire 2013 season.

2012:  Compiled a 3-2 record with a 5.05 earned run average…appeared in seven games and made six starts…averaged 10.87 strikeouts per nine innings.

2011:  Made two pitching appearances over two innings.

2010:  Attended Wisconsin-Whitewater his freshman year but did not play baseball.

High School:  Named honorable mention All-Southeast Conference both his junior and senior years…his junior-year team won a league title…coached by John Matera…four-year member of the football team…four-year honor student.

Personal:  Double major in accounting and finance…his uncle, Tom Newberry, played nine years for the NFL Los Angeles Rams, one year for the Pittsburgh Steelers, including their 1996 Super Bowl XXX team and made two appearances in the NFL Pro Bowl.
