NAPERVILLE — After helping guide Carthage to a pair of conference sweeps, senior outside hitter

Ryan Morey were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Volleyball Players of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Bartz earned Hitter of the Week honors, while Morey was selected as Setter of the Week after the Firebirds defeated St. Norbert and Augustana (Ill.) in straight sets to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Bartz powered the Carthage attack across the two matches, totaling 27 kills with only four errors on 49 swings for a .469 hitting percentage. The Muskego, Wis., native recorded a match-high 12 kills in the win over St. Norbert before following with 15 kills against Augustana (Ill.). In addition to his offensive output, Bartz contributed 20 digs, four service aces and three blocks during the week.
Morey orchestrated the Firebird offense in the road sweep of Augustana (Ill.). The Redwood City, Calif., native dished out a season-high 45 assists against the Vikings, marking the first time this season he has eclipsed 40 assists in a three-set match. Behind Morey's distribution, Carthage posted a .421 team hitting percentage in the match, including a .630 mark in the second set. He also added eight digs and one block assist.
Carthage plays Dominican (Ill.) on Saturday, March 14 at 3 p.m. at home.
