"Took one on the chin tonight," said Head Coach Leanne Ulmer. "We struggled to create enough offense which put a lot of pressure on our defense. The first set started poorly and we never recovered. We switched things up in the 2nd set and did a much better job controlling the first contacts and that helped produce more offense. We got behind in Set 3 but fought back but came up short. They are a very complete team and are playing very well. We will regroup and get ready for a couple of Saturday matches."
Carthage women's volleyball returns to action Saturday, Oct. 24, at the UW-Whitewater tournament in Whitewater, Wis. The Firebirds will face Gustavus Adolphus at 11 a.m. before taking on No. 15 Dubuque at 1 p.m. The Firebirds return to Tarble Arena on Oct. 28 to host Millikin University at 7 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
