KENOSHA - The Carthage women's swim and dive team returned to action in 2026 and delivered a dominant performance, claiming multiple event victories and securing a strong team win over UW–Oshkosh.

The Firebirds opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as
Mikella Mesina,
Jill Kane,
Lois Klinger, and
Lucy Brown touched first with a time of 1:55.34.
Individually, Addison Shaffer captured first in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:38.86), while
Emily Belcik earned two victories, winning both the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.12) and the 50-yard freestyle (25.92). Belcik later contributed to another win as part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team alongside
Noelle Marsh,
Julia Braun, and Brown, finishing in 1:43.20.
In the breaststroke events, Kane took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.37), while
Lyndsey Hackman claimed victories in both the 200-yard breaststroke (2:41.45) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.82). Klinger earned a first-place finish, winning the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.82).
The Firebirds are back in action on Saturday, January 17, hosting the IIT Scarlet Hawks. Action is scheduled to begin at noon at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center. For more information, visit our
