Firebirds Shut Out Wisconsin Lutheran with 3–0 Victory at Home

KENOSHA  — The Carthage women's soccer team put together a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, blanking Wisconsin Lutheran 3–0 at Art Keller Stadium. With the win, the Firebirds improve to 3-3-1 on the season.

How it Happened
  • Carthage wasted little time setting the tone. In just the 6th minute, Malie Cassel found the back of the net off a feed from Peyton Olinski to give the Firebirds an early lead (1-0).
  • With an unassisted goal, Ashley Gorder scored off a free kick six minutes later (2-0).
  • The Firebirds' pressure continued after halftime, and in the 66th minute, Ruby Hillegass delivered the final blow with a far long shot, unassisted goal, hitting the left side post, and dribbling in (3-0).
High Flyers
  • The Firebirds recorded 16 shots, with seven of them on goal.
  • Ainsley Stallworth collected 4 saves in goal.
