Men’s Lacrosse Battles Back but Fall Short in CCIW Tournament at Elmhurst

ELMHURST — Carthage showed resilience but fell short in a 14-5 road loss to Elmhurst on Wednesday night in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament at Langhorst Field. Despite facing a strong start from the Bluejays, the Firebirds battled back with key contributions from several student-athletes, including Alec Gern and Andrew Johnson. Carthage continued to fight throughout the game, closing the gap in the second and third quarters before Elmhurst sealed the win with a strong finish.

Coachs Remarks

"Wheels came off the bus early in this one. We just were not ready to play a big game and were not able to ever get in a rhythm on either side of the ball. Better effort defensively in the second half, but we were in a big hole and just never got going offensively except for a small run to start the third. Elmhurst played great but we were just off all game. It's a disappointing way to end what was a good season."
