DECATUR — The Carthage College men's golf team competed at the Take Back the Night Invitational on April 26, tying for 10th with a team score of 600 (292+308) at Red Tail Run Golf Club. The tournament featured a competitive 20-team field and was hosted by Millikin.

"8 of the top 15 teams in the Midwest were in this Milikin sponsored invite, and we were really looking forward to testing ourselves.
It turned out to be a tale of two different days on two different courses. On Friday, we played Red Tail Run, a course that demands length, has a few very tough holes, but also can give up some birdies. Had we putted a bit better, as solid as we played, we could have finished day one right in the mix.
On Saturday, we played South Side Country Club, a course that plays shorter, but a course that demands precision, even extreme precision in a few spots. In a nutshell, we just didn't handle it well, and went backwards in the standings.
We saw all the top teams in the CCIW this weekend, obviously with Illinois Wesleyan leading the way, so although maybe a bit disappointed with the weekend results, I don't think we lost any confidence. When the CCIW Championship starts Thursday, we will be ready."
