PROVIDENCE  — Carthage College wrestler Zaren Anderson faced tough competition in the 157-pound bracket at the NCAA Men's Wrestling Championships, competing in three matches before bowing out of the tournament.

In the championship bracket, Anderson opened against Jacob Woodburn of Coast Guard Academy. The bout remained close throughout, but Woodburn secured a 4-2 decision to send Anderson into the consolation bracket.

Anderson received a bye in the first round of the consolation bracket, automatically advancing to the next round.

In his second consolation match, he squared off against Demetri Teddlie of the University of the Ozarks. Despite a strong effort, Anderson fell in a 7-3 decision, ending his tournament run.

The run from Anderson, finishing with 27 wins this year, signals the end of the 2024-25 season for the men's wrestling team.
