KENOSHA — The Carthage College women's wrestling team hosted Joliet Junior College and Elmhurst in a Thursday night tri-meet in Tarble Arena. It was a special night for the Firebirds, as the team came away with a pair of wins and celebrated Senior Night, where they honored Nadia Flores, Hilda Gonzalez, Natalie Majer, and Jennifer Villagomez.



VS. JOLIET JUNIOR COLLEGE
The Firebirds earned wins by forfeit at 103, 110, 117, 124, and 131 to jump out to a 25-0 lead. Madison Cook lost by fall to Elliana Balderrama at 1:20, cutting the Firebirds lead to 25-5. The Firebirds won by forfeit again at 145 before Adele Senzig earned a 15-0 tech fall victory over Ryann Reeves (3:34) boosting the lead to 34-5. Joliet earned wins by forfeit at 180 and 207 to end the dual at 34-15.

VS ELMHURST

The Firebirds jumped out to a 5-0 win with an Elmhurst forfeit at 103. Karina Torres defeated Veronica Cosio with a fall at 1:08 to open the lead to 10-0. Majer earned the win at 117 with a fall victory over Zeel Mody after 32 seconds. The Firebirds claimed forfeit victories at 124, 131, 138, and 145 to extend the lead to 35-0. At 160, Senzig fell to Rice with a fall at 0:21. The Bluejays earned the win by forfeit at 180 to end the match at 35-10.
