KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage women's wrestling team returned to Tarble Arena for a midweek dual on Wednesday night, falling to nationally recognized North Central, 36–1. The Firebirds battled through a lineup depleted by injuries and forfeits but picked up a hard-earned point at 103 pounds.



At 103, Kirsten Cortez delivered Carthage's lone result on the mat, dropping a 9-1 decision to North Central's Justine Perez but scoring the Firebirds' only team point of the night. The remainder of the dual was dominated by the Cardinals, who secured victories across several bouts, including multiple technical falls and one fall.
Carthage forfeited matches at 110, 124, 160, and 207 pounds, while the 117 and 138 divisions ended in double forfeits. At 131, Alaina Hollendoner was defeated by London Woods via a 10-0 technical fall. Abigail Jutrzonka took the mat at 145 before North Central's Callie Alfieri earned a fall. At 180, Josie Hosea wrestled tough but fell to Caitlyn Flaherty by technical fall in 31 seconds.



The Firebirds (3-3) return to action on Sunday, Dec. 7 as the squad is set to host the Carthage Classic in the Tarble Athletic & Recreation Center Field House. Action begins at 9 a.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
