"The two top-ranked teams in the Midwest, Aurora and UW Eau Claire, lived up to their billing. Unfortunately, our struggles in the wind on day 1 put us too far back to make a realistic charge in day two.
Our expectations have gone up a bit, and sometimes it takes a tournament or two to get comfortable with the new expectations, as well as have the confidence needed to meet them.
Alex, as a senior, seemed to get comfortable with the higher expectations a little quicker, and he was excellent today. His 67 was kind of boring - a great sign.
Tayt struggled early in the season and now has refound his swagger. He has really been working hard, he loves to compete, and again this tournament he just looked relaxed and confident. It is a lot of fun to watch how far his game has come in 13 months, and I see him just getting better."
The Firebirds will take place in the Central College Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday of October 7 and 8.
