KENOSHA -  The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team competed against the Wheaton College Thunder for a conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

The Firebirds team of Maria Gutzweiler, Rylie Vatch, Grace Norman, and Emily Belcik took the gold in the 200 yard medley relay in a time of 1:51.69.

Sydney Logan swam the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:02.84 for a first place finish.

In the 100 yard backstroke, Kylie Kramp took first place in a time of 1:01.70.

Vatch snatched the gold in the 100 yard breaststroke with 1:11.57.

In the 200 yard butterfly, Lois Klinger swam 2:19.15 for a first place finish. 

Gutzweiler placed first in the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 25.16.

Logan added another first place finish for the day in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:24.82.

In the 100 yard butterfly, Klinger added another first place finish with a time of 1:01.19.

The Firebirds team of Gutzweiler, Klinger, Noelle Marsh, and Belcik took the gold in the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:41.28.



The Firebirds return to action at home on Thursday, Dec. 5 as they look to host and open the first day of the Carthage Classic. Action is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
