Men’s Basketball Picks Up Seventh Home Win Over Carroll Wednesday

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carthage College men's basketball team remained undefeated at home as they beat Carroll (Wis.) 69-57 on Wednesday night.

How it Happened
  • Ryan Johnson came in quick with a steal that led the Firebirds to a layup from Fillip Bulatovic, who got Carthage's first points. 
  • Griffin Daun used a wrap-around layup to tie the score at 14.  
  • On the next possession, a three-pointer from Tanner Lamb put the Firebirds on top, leading 17-14.
  • Carthage went on a nine-point run throughout the first half, and Antuan Nesbitt sent the Firebirds ahead 35-24 heading into halftime. 
  • Nesbitt returned to start the second half with a layup to bring the Firebirds lead to 13. 
  • The Firebirds went back and forth with Carroll until the Pioneers battled back, tying it at 54 with 8:28 left. 
  • After a seven-point run from the Firebirds, Bulatovic stretched the advantage to 10.
  • Colton Sigel sealed the deal with two free throws to end the game 69-57.

High Flyers
  • Fillip Bulatovic posted a double-double on the day, concluding with a game-high 26 points and 13 rebounds. 
  • Ryan Johnson led the Firebirds in rebounds with 15 in the contest, adding eight points. 
  • Antuan Nesbitt chipped in with 18 points and seven rebounds for Carthage.
