KENOSHA, Wis. — Carthage College Director of Strategic Communications Sam Boyle is pleased to announce the addition of two talented individuals to the Strategic Communications team, Justin Corrigan and Odett Ochoa. Their combined experience and expertise in the fields of sports management, communications, and content creation will significantly contribute to Carthage Athletic's success and growth.
Justin Corrigan joins Carthage as Assistant Director for Strategic Communications, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to Carthage Strategic Communications. Justin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Carthage College, where he also pursued minors in Health and Secondary Education. He further expanded his knowledge by obtaining a Master of Sciences in Sport Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Spring 2023.
Justin has showcased his exceptional talents throughout his career through a series of impactful roles. As the Graduate Assistant for Strategic Communications at UW-Parkside, Corrigan was the media contact for eight NCAA D-II athletic programs. His responsibilities included managing partnerships, creating engaging social and print media content, writing compelling post-game recaps, and developing consistent brand messaging. Justin's experience also encompasses serving as a public address announcer and play-by-play commentator for various sports events, along with maintaining relationships with different departments on campus.
Additionally, Justin's leadership abilities were evident during his tenure as the Interim Director for Strategic Communications at UW-Parkside, where he managed media contacts for all 13 NCAA Division II athletic programs and oversaw a team of student interns. His dynamic branding, communication, and event coordination skills have already left an indelible mark.
Odett Ochoa, an accomplished professional with an impressive track record, has joined Carthage as Graduate Assistant for Strategic Communications. With a diverse range of skills, Odett has demonstrated her proficiency in various domains. She was a Sports Writer and Photographer at Imperial Valley Press Newspaper in El Centro, Calif., where she actively contributed to the organization's digital and social media presence. Her work included creating engaging content, photographing local community sporting events, and building relationships with stakeholders.
Prior to joining Carthage, Odett's journey included roles such as Sales Associate at Orangetheory Fitness and Content Manager at RIPE Education Company. Her knack for effective communication, content creation, and relationship building has consistently shone through in her responsibilities. Her contributions at HilltopViews and the Recreation & Wellness Department at St. Edward's University further underscore her dedication to quality and excellence.
