Coachs Remarks

"The offense got us off to a good start today.  I think we had 17 goals on 28 shots in the first half, and another great job by Matt of having this team offensively running at a high level.

We have a lot of things to work on, though, and get better at, and we need to have a cleaner game as well going forward. We are still turning the ball over too much and bleeding too many goals on mental mistakes.  Those are things we need to fix before we get into conference play.

We also let it get away from us there in the fourth quarter at the end with some sloppy lacrosse and need to find a way to play sixty minutes regardless of whom we have out on the field.

I told the guys the key to winning today was face-offs and clears, and Corbyn and Workman had a good day giving us a twenty-possession advantage at the X. We needed to be better today in ride and clear game, so I'll have to take a look at where we went wrong there."

Up Next
  • The Firebirds will be in action tomorrow, March 19 facing Dubuque at 1 p.m.
