SHERMAN, Texas — The Carthage College women's water polo team concluded their trip to Texas the team took on Austin on Saturday.
Morrigan Bushroe-Stumpf added to her season goal total scoring for the Firebirds on the day. Bushroe-Stumpf currently leads the team in goals with 14 goals and has a .778 shot percentage.
"Although we were a bit short-handed today, we started off well and were competitive for what could've been a good game for both teams," said head coach
Ryan Castle. "But then our structures came apart and allowed Austin College was able to pick us off in the counterattack. It wasn't all bad; there were some solid phases where we could regroup, especially when
Ella Selman made crucial blocks. But we will regroup this week and put in the work to get back to the standard we expect when we represent Carthage."
Carthage returns to the pool on Saturday, March 11 taking on Augustana (Ill.) at 11 a.m. then concluding the day facing Wittenberg at 4:45 p.m. in Rock Island, Ill.
