Vikings Too Much For Firebirds at Home

KENOSHA, Wis. - On Saturday afternoon at Art Keller Field, the Carthage College football team could not comeback against North Park, falling 35-20. 

The Basics
  • Final score: North Park 35 - Carthage 20

  • Records: North Park 3-2 (2-2 CCIW), Carthage 1-4 (1-3 CCIW)

How it Happened
  • Carthage took the opening drive and marched down the field as Bryce Frank caught a four-yard pass for a 6-0 score. 
  • North Park retaliated in the 2nd quarter as a three-yard touchdown pass got them on the board. 
  • The Vikings took control of the game with a 42-yard touchdown throw for a 14-6 score heading to the intermission break. 
  • North Park extended the lead with a pick-six, accelerating to a 21-6 margin. 
  • The visitors used a 44-yard pass to propel them to 28-6 in the fourth. 
  • A 12-yard Bryce Lowe throw to Jordan Wiles shrunk the deficit to 28-12. 
  • After North Park responded with a touchdown, Isaiah Byrd returned a kickoff for a 99-yard touchdown for a 35-20 score. 
  • The Vikings went on to win the contest. 

High Flyers 
  • Chris DiVito led the Firebirds in tackles with a season-best 16 tackles. 
  • Garrett Warner eclipsed the 200 career tackles mark, finishing with seven on the day. 
  • Offensively, Bryce Lowe passed for 310 yards, while Jordan Wiles grabbed eight receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. 
  • It's the third time Lowe has passed for 300 or more yards this season. 
  • Gavin Betts added 70 yards of offense with four receptions, and Bryce Frank had 68 yards off 10 catches.
