Women's Soccer Concludes Regular Season Against Elmhurst

KENOSHA, Wis.- The Carthage women's soccer team played at Art Keller Field on Oct. 25 against the Elmhurst Blue Jays. After a hard-fought game that went down to the final seconds, the teams ended in a 1-1 draw. The Firebirds finished their season 2-7-7 overall with 0-3-5 in conference play.

How it Happened 
  • Elmhurst put up 13 shots in the first half, including seven shots on goal. Carthage booted 6 shots with two shots being on goal. The score at the end of the first half was 0-0.
  • At 71:30 Peyton Olinski laid a perfect ball to assist Maggie Thom who broke away to score the first goal of the game in the top left corner of the net.
  • At the 84:14 mark, Kelli Coughlin scored the lone goal for Elmhurst with an assist from Gianna Imperatrice. 
  • The final score was 1-1. 

High Flyers
  • Ainsley Stallworth picked up 11 saves creating a new season high. The second-year player ended the season with 77 saves. 
  • Maggie Thom scored the sole goal for the Firebirds, earning her first goal of the season.
  • Peyton Olinski snatched her first assist of the season.
