Firebirds Fall Late to UWSP

STEVENS POINT, Wis.- The Carthage women's soccer team traveled to face the UW-Stevens Point Pointers on Tuesday afternoon. The Firebirds jumped out to an early lead, but the Pointers found a way to even the score in the second half before taking the lead and claiming the victory.

How it Happened 
  • Leah Martin found the back of the net in the 29th minute to give the Firebirds an early 1-0 lead. Lisa Traxel was credited with the assist on the play.
  • The Pointers evened the score in the 58th minute with a goal from Gabby Dunn.
  • Stevens Point took the lead for the first time in the 70th minute with Dunn's second goal of the match.

High Flyers
  • Martin scored her second goal of the season.
  • Traxel picked up her second assist of the year.
  • Ainsley Stallworth earned one save in the contest.
