KENOSHA, Wis. — Carthage College Athletics hosted the 47th Annual Firebird Classic at The Club at Strawberry Creek presented by Palmen Auto Stores. 

The 2022 golf outing, held on Monday, raised $92,500 to support its 28 varsity sports and the student-athlete experience. 145 golfers participated in the event, including lunch, golf, a cocktail reception, and dinner.

Speakers at the dinner program included Director of Athletics Nate Stewart, Carthage President John Swallow, and head men's volleyball coach JW Kieckhefer. 

Fresh off of two men's volleyball National Championships and Joseph White's individual national title in the shot put in May, President Swallow shared his vision to "Level Up" for the entire department. As apart of his vision, President Swallow challenged the group for a sizable gift to grow the athletic endowment. 

The traditional golf outing supports more than 750 student-athletes in the college's NCAA Division III program.

"Thank you to all the golfers, sponsors, and dinner guests for making Monday so successful as we raised funds to support our student-athletes," said Stewart. "Your partnership and support will enable Carthage Athletics to continue to grow and reach new heights."
