DECATUR, ILL. — After a day of rain postponed the first day of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Softball Tournament, the Carthage College softball squad fell to North Central (Ill.) 10-0 on Friday at Workman Softball Field.
The Cardinals (23-9) started with a 1-0 lead in the first. Senior pitcher
Naomi Alonzo and the Carthage (14-17) defense kept the score locked at one until the sixth inning. North Central (Ill.) plated nine runs to win the game.
The Firebirds will now face Carroll (Wis.) beginning on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m.
