KENOSHA, Wis. — Clinching a spot in the NECC National Championship in one final game, the Carthage esports team will begin play in Overwatch beginning on Tuesday, May 24.
"Overwatch has been hard at work since the loss to Carroll in the NECC Playoff Championship, and looks to rebound and make a push for a national title," said director of esports
Kevin Palmer. "Captains
Ben McCurley and
Em Schwerdtfeger have been working closely with me to scout our opponent, adapt our strategies, and implement new tactics to make us an even more proficient and effective team."
The Firebirds will take on New England College in their first matchup of the day, scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT start time. Following that match they will play once more at 8 p.m. CT, needing two wins in the double-elimination group stage to advance to the semifinals.
