WHEATON, Ill. - The Carthage College Firebirds women's soccer team was blanked in a 1-0 loss to the Wheaton Thunder on Saturday evening in Wheaton, Illinois. With the loss, Carthage drops to 0-7-5 on the year (0-4-1 CCIW). The Firebirds have now been shut out in two consecutive contests, and hope to rebound for their senior day matchup with North Park. 
 
 
	- Final Score: Wheaton 1, Carthage 0.

- Records: Carthage 0-7-5 (0-4-1 CCIW), Wheaton 4-6-3 (3-1-1 CCIW)
 
 
	- Wheaton doubled up the Firebirds in shots in the first half (8-4) and converted one of those eight shots into a Morgan Beamer goal in the 37th minute. 
- First-year goalkeeper Ainsley Stallworth recorded five saves in the first half of play.
- The Thunder held Carthage scoreless in the first half of play, leading to a 1-0 halftime score. Lisa Traxel and Jenny Garcia each took shots on goal, but Wheaton goalkeeper Lauren Ketchum held firm. 
- Stallworth and the Carthage defense performed admirably in the second half, but the offense only took one shot on goal in the latter half of play, leading to a Firebirds defeat. Wheaton was only able to take five shots in the final 45 minutes. 
 
 
	- Ainsley Stallworth recorded six saves in goal for the Firebirds, bringing her season total to 84. 
- Senior midfielder Jenny Garcia took two shots on goal against Wheaton- her first two of the season. 
- Sophomore defender Lisa Traxel took her third shot on goal of the year. 
 
 
	- Carthage hopes to send off its seniors with one final home win as they are set to take on the North Park Vikings on Wednesday, October 19 beginning at 7 p.m. The Firebirds' final two games of the regular season will take place on the road, as the team will travel to Decatur and Elmhurst to take on the Big Blue and the Bluejays, respectively.
