WHEATON, Ill. — The Carthage College men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with Wheaton (Ill.) Saturday night at Joe Bean Stadium.

• Records: Carthage 6-6-3 (3-1-1 CCIW), Wheaton (Ill.) 5-4-4 (2-1-2 CCIW)

 

• The match started even at zeros until the Thunder got on the board first, with a goal with seven minutes left in the first half.
• Mickey Reilly tied it at one with a penalty kick goal in the second half. 
• Though both sides had chances at breaking the tie, the game ended in a draw.

 
 

 

• Aidan Crowder led the Firebirds in shots with five, four on frame. 
• Mason McCaw registered four shots off the bench. 
• Tino Korhonen made two saves for the Firebirds. 

 



"We came out well and played possibly our best half of soccer all season. We had enough chances to put the game out of reach but unfortunately did not get the breakthrough. It was a hard-fought battle in the second half and a good point on the road and a good experience to continue our growth. Now we look ahead to another tough road trip against North Park."
