Baseball Season Concludes at CCIW Tournament

WHEATON, Ill. — The Carthage College baseball team fell 12-4 to Wheaton on Monday afternoon in a play-in game for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament at Lee PFund Stadium.

The Thunder (16-25) took an early lead after scoring eight total runs in the first two innings. In the top of the fifth, the Firebirds (16-25) scored on an RBI single from P.T. Boeye, before plating three more in the sixth on a three-run home run by Johnny Belskis to make it 8-4. However, Carthage was unable to keep their offensive momentum rolling, eventually falling by eight runs to drop out of the conference tournament and bring a close to the 2021 season.
