Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Firebirds Drop CCIW Contest to UChicago

CHICAGO — The Carthage women's lacrosse team fell in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action to UChicago 17-2 on Wednesday at Stagg Field.  

UChicago (5-0, 2-0 CCIW) scored three goals to start the first until a goal from Margaux Giacotto made it 3-1 however, the Maroons headed into the halftime break up 8-1. 

In the second, Jessie Gibson found the back of the net for Carthage (3-6, 0-3 CCIW) at the 25:05 mark but UChicago went on to win the game. 

Carthage returns home facing Augustana (Ill.) on Saturday, April 17 at 1 p.m.
