Carthage Takes on Carroll in Road Scrimmage

4/13/2021 10:38:00 PM

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's soccer team traveled to Carroll for a scrimmage on Tuesday night.

"Special thanks to Carroll for squeezing in this date," said head coach Steve Domin. "It was a much needed scrimmage to get some junior varsity players some extended, full game minutes against a quality side. Coach Derek has done a nice job assembling a squad."

"For stretches things didn't resemble a soccer match, but there was lots of passion and excitement," said Domin. "The middle period took on some life and you could see both teams spent a lot of energy. Really what this whole thing is about, and it was fun as coaches to be part of."

"We were starting to settle in on a rotation, knowing what certain guys' roles will be this year on the varsity level, but tonight a select group showed they could end up in a varsity jersey at some point," said Domin.

"To name a few, who didn't waste the opportunity were Andreja Duncevic, Brenden Baugrud, Vinney Messineo and Bart Krumpos," said Domin. "They all impressed with their first starts of the season. Lots of people are talking about Bart's goal tonight."
