KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College Athletic Department announced an updated spectator policy for their home events that will allow a limited number of guests to attend, which will come into effect on March 13, 2021.
In conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) and its member schools, Carthage College looks to establish safe guidelines for reopening gates to allow a limited number of spectators, as other collegiate and professional sport venues currently do so across the country.
In order to limit the number of outside visitors to campus, each student-athlete is limited to four guests at each home competition who are legally or emotionally related to them, per the governing CCIW policy. Student-athletes are not permitted to transfer their guest privileges. If capacity limits allow after student-athlete guests have been accounted for, Carthage students, faculty, and staff will be allowed entry at the discretion of the athletic department.
Prospective student-athletes and their guests are permitted on a limited basis, provided they are on an official or unofficial visit and the contest is not the sole activity on the prospective student-athlete's agenda.
All guests must follow all Carthage safety guidelines while in attendance, including wearing masks or face coverings at all times covering the nose and mouth, and maintaining social distancing. Guests are prohibited from consuming food at any contests, but are allowed to lift, not remove, masks to drink a beverage.
Guests must also follow Carthage's seating policy and arrangements in order to maintain distance to others, and may not interact with student-athletes while at the contest, remaining at least 12 feet from all student-athletes and all competition areas. Carthage strictly prohibits tailgating before contests, and requires all guests to depart immediately following the conclusion of the event.
This policy applies to Carthage home fans only, and does not permit attendance from guests of visiting institutions, or apply to Carthage fans to attend away competitions. Please refer to the opposing institution's fan policies before planning to attend athletic events in which Carthage is not hosting.
Carthage College and the athletic department hold the right to adjust their attendance policy based on the current conditions regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
