Men’s Soccer Hosts North Park for Exhibition Match

3/31/2021 10:17:00 PM

KENOSHA, Wis. — Playing in one last exhibition before their first regular competition this weekend, the Carthage men's soccer hosted North Park on Wednesday night at Art Keller Field.

"In a regular season it's difficult to play a conference championship team twice within a week, let alone in the COVID era," said head coach Steve Domin. "North Park is simply a powerful and creative team, but our reach, athleticism, and talent can create problems for most teams."

"Certainly we are proud of the guys, especially being hyper young, but we haven't done anything yet," said Domin. "If we stay hungry and competitive, we will be a tough beat this year and in the future."

"We have had some incredible teams over the years, and that's a credit to those classes, and I believe this group should be in all those conversations over time," said Domin. "Both teams were witness to some attractive soccer tonight, and both teams are primed to take the next step. It's always exciting to see the ball travel into the goal while keeping opponents out, but I would anticipate the next time we play it will be spirited again."
