Women’s Swim and Dive Win against Millikin in Virtual Meet

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team defeated Millikin in a virtual meet 157-63 against Millikin on Saturday.

The swim team won 11 races against Millikin as Elise Merucci won two individual events on the day as she won the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard fly. Merucci was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that won with swimmers Jordyn Bloode, Kaitlyn Fogo, and Jordyn Kaplan.

Junior Izzy Bertaud also won two events on the day taking first in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. Recording a first-place time of 1:04.68, senior Allison Marsh took the 100-yard backstroke, freshman Alyssa Sayatovic won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.41.

Marsh and Bertaud were also swimmers in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Signe Hauck and Kaplan collecting a time of 1:44.52

Reining College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Diver of the Week Patricia Banasik won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 134.80 and 124.35 respectively.

The women's swim and dive team return to the pool on Saturday, February 27 starting at 11 p.m.
