Carthage Concludes Calvin Quad Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Carthage College men's swimming and diving team concluded the final day of the Calvin Quad Invitational on Saturday, finishing with 630 team points for fourth. 

In the morning portion, the relay team of Ben Keller, Case Stevenson, Jacob Hardt, and Adam Moskus clocked a time of 1:38.11 in the 200-yard medley relay for fourth. Paul Busse took third in the 400-yard individual medley while Mitchell Mages placed second in the 100-yard fly. Moskus registered a time of 1:48.95 in the 200-yard freestyle for fifth, while Daniel Staicu scored a 90.95 in the three-meter diving event. The relay team of Conner Hwang, Moskus, Busse, and Mages wrapped up the morning session with a second-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle event. 

Busse gave the Firebirds their first top-five finish during the afternoon session as he took fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle. Mages and Moskus went fourth and fifth respectively in the 100-yard freestyle, while both were a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that took second along with Michael Bartczyszyn and Hwang. 

Carthage returns to the pool on Friday, November 19 at 6 p.m. facing Wheaton (Ill.) at home.
