Firebirds Kickoff 2021-22 Wrestling Season

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's wrestling team started the season with duals against MSOE and Millikin in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action in the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center. The Firebirds fell to Millikin in the first dual 52-0 before concluding the night with a 30-24 loss to MSOE.

On the mat, after falling to Millikin in the first match, freshman Loren Semler picked up the first win for Carthage over MSOE as he defeated his competition by fall at 125 pounds. Carthage picked up their second straight win at 141 pounds as freshman Cole Nelson won by fall while at 157 pounds, sophomore Collin Ruiz picked up the win.

Carthage travels to the Wisconsin-Steven Point Open on Saturday, November 6 beginning at 9 a.m.
