ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The No. 12 Carthage College men's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 victory over Augustana (Ill.) in the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) match of the 2020 campaign Tuesday night at Roy J. Carver Center.

It was all Carthage in the last set cruising to a 10-3 margin. A 15-8 run for the Red Men gave Carthage the victory 25-11.
The Red Men continue CCIW play playing Loras on the road on Saturday, February 22 starting at 3 p.m.
"Could not be happier to start CCIW play with a big win on the road! Having a long road trip to the Iowa/Illinois border is a tough way to start, however we came out with some good energy. When our serve/pass game is on we are tough to beat. In sets 1/3/4 we were able to sustain some great pressure and our passing was phenomenal. I was really proud of the way Braeden Waumans stepped up to the challenge offensively tonight. When he plays well this team really finds its groove and has a lot of confidence. No rest for this team as we have to go right back on the road to Iowa on Saturday to play a great Loras squad. The challenges keep coming and I hope we are able to sustain this level of competitiveness all season."
