Red Men Collect Fourth Straight Victory

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's basketball team collected their fourth straight with a 89-77 victory over North Park in the Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) competition on Wednesday at Tarble Arena.

The Red Men (15-7, 7-6 CCIW) jumped out to a 26-13 score over the Vikings (4-19, 2-12 CCIW). A layup by Preston Laketa at the 7:52 mark of the half extended the Carthage lead to 30-15. The Red Men later put together a 15-7 run for a 45-22 advantage before heading into the locker rooms up 47-25.

Carthage continued the momentum to begin the second half with a layup from Kienan Baltimore with 14:48 left on the clock. With the score 77-44 in favor of the Red Men, North Park rallied with a 22-4 run shrinking the deficit to 15. The Vikings got as close as 11 with a pair of free throws before Carthage came away with the 89-77 victory.

The Red Men hit the road on Saturday, February 15 traveling to face Augustana (Ill.) at 7 p.m.

Head Coach Bosko Djurickovic

"We always find a way to make it interesting. Four conference wins in a row. We are playing good solid basketball at the right time. Kienan Baltimore was outstanding on both ends of the court and made some huge plays late. We have a lot to play for going forward."
