HOLLAND, Mich. – The Carthage College women's swimming and diving team picked up a 168-112 victory over Hope Friday evening at the Kresge Natatorium of Dow Center.
The Lady Reds had nine individual race victories on the day as DeAnn Jones collected two first place wins in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.
Julia Cozzi also had two victories in the one-meter and three-meter diving events.
Becca Rutkowski placed first in the 200-yard freestyle,
Heather Walker took first in the 100-yard backstroke while
Jordyn Kaplan recorded a personal-best time of 1:11.83 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Jordyn Bloode and
Mackinzee Macho rounded out Carthage individual victories taking the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly respectively.
The relay team of Walker, Kaplan, McGuire and Jones clocked a time of 1:51.93 in the 200-yard medley, later in the meet, Rutkowski, Walker, McGuire and Jones took first in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Lady Reds return to the pool on Thursday, February 20 for the Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships starting at 10:30 a.m.
"The meet was a promising finish to our dual meet season. I'm looking forward to team shifting their focus to preparing for CCIW championships."
