Lady Reds Comeback Falls Short

KENOSHA, Wis.  -- The Carthage College women's soccer team dropped a tough game against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday afternoon at Art Keller Field.

The MSOE Raiders (1-2-1) were able to get out in front in the first half following an own goal. Just before the 30th minute, the Raiders extended their lead to 2-0.

Carthage (2-2) nearly got on the board early in the second half following a shot from Courtney Lee that hit off the crossbar. Looking to close their deficit, the Lady Reds pressured the Raiders keeper with 15 shots in the last 45 minutes of play. Carthage broke through in the 71st minute following a long goal from Lee that found the back of the net of the far post. The Lady Reds continued to test their opponent up to the final horn but were unable to find the equalizer.

Carthage will continue their home stand when they host UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
