NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced on Tuesday, September 3 that Carthage College women's volleyball student-athlete Ellie LeCount has been named the CCIW Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. 

LeCount helped the Lady Reds to a 4-0 start to the season with 3-0 victories over Whitworth, Hardin-Simmons, Whittier, and Southwestern during the Southwestern University Fall Invitational over the past weekend. LeCount was named tournament MVP as she collected 134 assists and 11 service aces for Carthage during tournament play. 

The Lady Reds are back in action on Wednesday, September 4, traveling to face No. 12 Wisconsin-Whitewater at 7 p.m.
