Lady Reds Draw Even with Titans at UW-Oshkosh Invite

OSHKOSH, Wis.  -- The Carthage College women's soccer team tied in non-conference action 1-1 against Wisconsin-Oshkosh Saturday evening at J.J. Keller Field.

After a scoreless first half, Morgan Verbeten found the back of the net to give Carthage (3-2-1) a 1-0 lead. In the 82nd minute, Wisconsin-Oshkosh (3-3-1) tied the game off a 10 yard cross into the box. Though both teams battled through overtime, neither could collect the golden goal to win. 

Carthage stays on the road facing No. 9 St. Thomas (Minn.) on Sunday, September 22 at 3:30 p.m. at J.J. Keller Field to conclude the UW-Oshkosh Invitational.

  • Morgan Verbeten registered her fifth goal of the season while the Lady Reds tallied 15 shots. 
  • Sara Lieffrig recorded all 110 minutes in goal registering five saves.
