Carthage Receives Votes in 2019 AVCA Preseason Coaches’ Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released their 2019 Preseason Coaches' Polls Wednesday afternoon, with Carthage coming in just outside of the top-25.

The Lady Reds earned 82 points in the first poll of the season, placing them in 27th place. Just last week, Carthage was selected to finish in first place within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) in their preseason coaches' poll.

The 2019 squad will begin their season on the road in Texas, as they travel to Austin for the Southwestern University Fall Invitational for four games. The Lady reds will then return north for a road game at No. 16 Wisconsin-Whitewater before a three-game tournament at Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Their first home game will come on Wednesday, September 11 at 7 p.m. when they host Lake Forest College.
