AMANI DENNIS NFL DRAFT DIAMONDS INTERVIEW

KENOSHA, WIS.—Hundreds upon hundreds of collegiate football players awaited that call of a lifetime throughout the past three days as part of the 2019 National Football League (NFL) Draft festivities in Nashville, Tennessee. One of those individuals happened to be Carthage College football senior Amani Dennis, who received an invite to partake in the Cleveland Browns Mini-Camp.
 
Dennis, a defensive back from Wheeling, Illinois, wrapped up his Red Men career this past fall and registered a team-leading five interceptions over nine games played. His senior season also included 33 tackles and 12 passes defended. Over his three full seasons with the Red Men, Dennis accumulated exactly 100 tackles and 11 picks. Dennis was a jack-of-all trades specialist in the Red Men lineup as he enlisted his services as a punter in 2018, where he averaged 30.3 yards per boot over eight attempts.
 
Dennis's senior season ended with being named to the 2018 D3football.com All-North Region Second Team. The 2018 season also included him being named to the September 19 D3football.com Team of the Week. Dennis was named to the 2018 All-CCIW First Team Defense, and 2017 All-CCIW Second Team Defense.
