KENOSHA, WIS.—The #1 seed Carthage College men's volleyball team embarked on a CCIW Semifinal Game vs. #4 seed North Central College in front of 673 fans at Tarble Arena on Friday night. The Red Men, who's hosting the MCVL Tournament for the first time since 2016, fired on all cylinders in a 3-0 sweep over the Cardinals on Friday, and punched their ticket to the 2019 MCVL Championship Game vs. Fontbonne on Saturday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. The Fontbonne Griffins notched a 3-1 win over Loras in the first semifinal.
Carthage mustered a .341 hitting percentage, and held North Central to a .102 figure on the night. It was another day at the office for
Evan Walsh, who registered a game-high 11 kills and finished second on the team with eight digs. The chemistry continued to brew between Walsh and
Matt Reinsel, who posted 35 assists in the match.
Braeden Waumans was on Walsh's heels with 10 kills on an astonishing .556 hitting percentage.
Matt Slivinski tallied a game-high nine digs, and nine kills.
Parker Connolly, who tallied four kills, commanded Carthage at the net with three blocks.
North Central leading attacker Jacob Zemba was held to eight kills, while teammate Michael Trunzo notched 25 assists.
The Red Men improve to 23-1 while North Central ends their season 16-11. Carthage now sports a 16-game win streak.

The Red Men, who jumped to a 7-2 lead in set one, led from start-to-finish in a 25-14 win thanks to Waumans' five kills in the frame. Walsh and Waumans each added four kills to their statlines in set two en route to a 25-17 win over the Cardinals. Things got interesting in set three, where the score was tied 20-20. Back-to-back Walsh kills gave Carthage the lead for good at 22-20, where they held onto a 25-22 win.
