THE GAMES

• The final stretch of the 2018-19 season is upon the Carthage College women's basketball team (14-7, 8-4 CCIW), who will host North Central College (6-15, 4-8 CCIW) on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Reds will pay North Park University (8-14, 4-9 CCIW) a visit on Saturday, February 9 at 5:00 p.m.
• The Cardinals, currently in a three-way tie for fifth place, will enter their bout with Carthage having won three of their last four games. Among those victories was a 58-49 decision over Augustana College on January 23, which completed a season-sweep of the Vikings.
• The Cardinals' 2018-19 roster consists of nine freshmen. Among that rookie group is Alanna Newsome, who leads the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game and 25 steals. Tyronne Howard, another freshman, paces the Cardinals with 85 assists and 28 steals to go along with 9.2 points per game.
• Among North Central's strongest statistic is their .295 three-point field goal percentage defense, which ranks second in the CCIW. Their toughest perimeter challenge of the season awaits them as Carthage leads the CCIW in every three-point category.
• The Vikings, who recently snapped a four-game losing skid with a 59-47 win over Augustana on February 2, will face Carthage off seven days of rest.
• North Park currently ranks last in the CCIW among 15 different categories, but pace the league in offensive rebounds per game (14.0), steals per game (10.4) and steals (229). 
• Freshman Jayla Johnson carries a league-leading .539 field goal percentage for the Vikings. Johnson paces North Park in scoring with 13.5 points per game, and commands the defensive side of the floor with 45 steals.

• Maggie McCloskey-Bax (6-15) is in her first season as North Central head women's basketball coach.
• Amanda Crockett (111-160) is in her 11th season as North Park head women's basketball coach.

THE SERIES

• The Lady Reds are 51-27 all-time against North Central, and 60-20 against North Park.
