Red Men Defeat Carroll and North Central in Home Tri Meet

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's swimming and diving team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday, defeating Carroll 162-45 and North Central 161-52 in the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.

The Red Men opened up the meet sweeping the podium in the men's 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Matija Simic, Mitchell Mages, Matt Janovsky, and Garrett Shuldes taking first with a time of 1:39.66. In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Jack Piccoli won the event with a time of 10:41.19, with Nick Nevins winning the 200-yard free moments later.

Mages picked up another first-place finish, this time in the 100-yard backstroke, as Cooper Hawkins claimed yet another top finish for Carthage in the 100-yard breaststroke. Jake Darlinger would touch the wall in 2:03.21 and finish first in the 200 fly, as Adam Moskus and Zachary Compton took first and second in the 50-yard free, respectively.

Wilson Burton would take first for the Red Men in the men's 100-yard free with a time of 48:86, while Nevins won his second event of the meet in the 200-yard backstroke. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Nick Seroni won his first event of the day, with Mages picking up another first-place finish, this time in the 500-yard free.

Hawkins would close out the meet for the Red Men by picking up two-straight wins, in the 100-yard fly and 100 IM.

The Red Men will take next weekend off before hosting the Carthage College Classic in the Koenitzer Aquatic Center beginning on December 5 at 6 p.m.
