LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2019 AVCA All-America teams for NCAA Division III women's volleyball on Tuesday.
Megan Behrendt,
Haley Horner and
Ellie LeCount were all named to the AVCA All-America teams after helping Carthage to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) regular season, tournament title and the program's third NCAA Regional title in program history.
Behrendt earned AVCA Division III Third-Team All-America honors for the 2019 season. Behrendt was named CCIW Player of the Year and CCIW tournament MVP. The senior from Lindenhurst, Ill. also came away with CCIW First-Team accolades for the second consecutive year while being selected to the NCAA Chicago All-Regional team list.
Horner was selected AVCA Division III Honorable Mention after leading the Lady Reds in kills. The Wheaton, Ill. native was also named to the NCAA Chicago All-Regional team.
LeCount came away with AVCA Division III First-Team All-America accolades after being named NCAA Chicago All-Regional team and tournament MVP. The Racine, Wis. native was named to the CCIW All-Tournament team and All-CCIW First-Team honors for the third consecutive season.
Behrendt, Horner and LeCount each made the AVCA All-Midwest team announced last week.
In the program's history, Carthage has had 10 women's volleyball student-athletes earn an AVCA All-American Award.
