GREENWOOD, Ind. — Carthage College senior
Megan Behrendt has been named to the 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VI team on Thursday.
Behrendt, a Public Relations major with a minor in Business Administration, played in 29 matches for the Lady Reds on the season while helping lead Carthage to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) regular season and tournament titles.
The native from Lindenhurst, Ill., was named the 2019 CCIW Player of the Year and was an all-conference first team member for the second-straight season along with collecting the CCIW Tournament MVP honors. Behrendt was also selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Midwest Region Team on Thursday.
The Lady Reds begin the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday, November 15 taking on Grinnell in the first round of the tournament hosted by the University of Chicago starting at 3 p.m.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form. Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
