LEXINGTON, Ky. — Three Carthage College women's volleyball student-athletes have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Midwest Region Team announced by the AVCA on Thursday.

Megan Behrendt, Haley Horner and Ellie LeCount were all named to the Midwest Region Team after helping the Lady Reds to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) regular season and tournament titles this past season. 

Behrendt finished the season with 282 kills, 32 assists, 30 service aces and 36 blocks. She was also named the CCIW All-Conference first team, CCIW Player of the Year, named to the CCIW All-Tournament team and tournament MVP. This is Behrendt's third AVCA Midwest selection. 

Horner was named to the list after leading the Lady Reds in kills with 304 and also recorded 75 blocks during the season. The junior from Wheaton, Ill. was named CCIW Offensive Player of the week in September. Horner collected her first CCIW All-Conference honor after being selected to the first team this season. 

LeCount was the top setter for the Lady Reds on the season as she was named CCIW All-Conference first team finishing with 1,031 assists, CCIW Setter of the Week twice and collected CCIW All-Tournament team honors for the third straight year. 

Carthage turns their attention to the NCAA Division III Tournament as they will face Grinnell on Friday, November 15 in the first round of the tournament hosted by the University of Chicago at 3 p.m.
